The Alexandrine parakeet, also known as the Alexandrine ring-necked parakeet or greater rose-ringed parakeet is named after Alexander the Great. This is a medium-sized parrot that is sexually dimorphic as adults. Adult males will have a black stripe across their lower cheeks and a pink band on their nape while adult females lack both. They inhabit the forests, woodlands, agricultural lands, and mangrove forests.
