The yellow nape amazon is a parrot that is found along the Pacific coast from southern Mexico south to northern Costa Rica. They inhabit dry forests and mangrove habitats of the tropics. They will nest in naturally occurring cavities. They are monogamous and their diet includes nuts, berries, seeds, and fruit.
